NCSM DOCTORAL STUDENT SALES RESEARCH PROGRAM
in conjunction with the
23nd Annual National Conference In Sales Management
March 27-29, 2008
Dallas, TX

To encourage and support doctoral student research in personal selling and sales management, the
National Conference in Sales Management (NCSM) is pleased to announce that up to three One-Thousand Dollar Doctoral Research Grants are available for 2008.

Research papers related to all selling and/or sales management issues are invited. Submitted papers must be authored solely by doctoral students (single or multiple authors are acceptable) who are candidates for degrees in marketing or a closely related field at a fully accredited university. DSEF doctoral research grant recipients must present their research at the 2008 NCSM conference and prepare an executive summary of the research for DSEF.

The author(s) of up to the top three accepted papers will be designated as “NCSM Doctoral Fellows,” will receive $1000, and will present their papers at a special NCSM session.

The conference registration fee for all doctoral students attending the conference will be waived. To be eligible for a waiver, doctoral students are required to submit a letter from a faculty member at their university attesting to their current enrollment in a doctoral program, and will be expected to attend all conference sessions.

General Rules for submissions to the NCSM Doctoral Student Sales Research Program:

1. The complete paper should be submitted to the Doctoral Program Chair electronically {meshoemaker@widener.edu) on or before the deadline on or before

Name(s) of author(s), their affiliation, and the title of the paper should appear only in the cover letter and on the manuscript’s title page. The title of the paper but not the name(s) of the author(s) should be at the top of page one followed by a single-spaced abstract not exceeding 100 words. The remainder of the paper should begin on page two, be double-spaced, and adhere to the reference style used in the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management. Maximum length is 25 double-spaced pages, including tables, exhibits, and references.

2. In order for a paper to be accepted, it or a similar version must not:
(a) have been previously published,
(b) have been accepted for publication elsewhere,
(c) be under consideration for publication elsewhere, or
(d) be submitted for publication elsewhere until such time as it is rejected from this conference competition.

3. Each submission will undergo a double-blind review process and will be evaluated on the importance and potential contribution of the sales topic, quality of conceptual development, sampling, and methodology, and the managerial relevance of the results. Conceptual research will also be considered. After review, all papers will be ranked and the top three papers accepted. All authors will be notified by mail of the status of their submitted research once the final decision has been reached.
