Overview:
The National Conference in Sales Management (NCSM) is the premier international gathering of scholars interested in research and teaching issues related to personal selling and sales management. The conference will begin with a welcoming reception Wednesday evening, and the first session will be at 8:00 am on Thursday. The conference sessions will end about 4:00 pm on Saturday. The competitive sessions will consist of the presentation of papers that have been accepted following a blind review process.

Theme:
All sales topics, with special emphasis on teaching pedagogy and educational issues, performance evaluation, sales motivation, technology (e.g., CRM), training, the selection of sales personnel, ethics, and the increasing role of communications in sales.

Panels:
Special panels will bring industry practitioners and educators together to discuss training and teaching techniques and topics to improve professional selling and sales management classes.

Top Paper Award:
The manuscript judged to be the TOP PAPER in terms of quality and relevance will have the opportunity to be reviewed for publication in the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management and the author(s) will receive a $500 cash award.

Doctoral Student Sales Research Program
There will be a special session for doctoral student papers. Papers submitted for this session must be authored solely by doctoral students (single or multiple authors are acceptable) and should be clearly marked that they are being submitted for this specific track. Up to three $1000 research grants are also available.

General Rules for Competitive and Doctoral Student Track Papers:
The general rules for submissions of competitive and doctoral student track papers for consideration are:

  1. the complete paper should be submitted to the Program Chair electronically (mjohlke@bradley.edu) on or before the deadline;

  2. papers will be reviewed using a double-blind review procedure. Name(s) of author(s), their affiliation and title of paper should appear only on the title page. Authors should avoid revealing their identities in the bodies of the papers;

  3. the title of the paper but not name(s) of the author(s) should be at the top of page one followed by a single-spaced abstract not exceeding 100 words. The remainder of the paper should be double-spaced and should adhere to the reference style of the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management;

  4. to be considered for presentation at the conference and publication in the Proceedings, a paper or a similar version of it must not
    (a) have been previously published,
    (b) have been accepted for publication elsewhere,
    (c) be under consideration for publication elsewhere, or
    (d) be submitted for publication elsewhere until such time as it is rejected from this conference competition;

  5. at least one author of an accepted paper MUST agree to:
    (a) appear at the conference to present the paper,
    (b) return a 3-1/2 inch disk (instructions will be provided later) to the Proceedings editor for publication in the Proceedings, and
    (c) preregister for the conference with submission of final draft of accepted paper(s).
